Why choose the IMAG for a field trip?
The IMAG inspires creativity and wonder with hands-on exhibits and activities across science, history, live animals, and aquariums. Your students will enjoy engaging, educational experiences designed to spark curiosity and foster learning.
What topics or experiences can students explore at the IMAG?
Students can explore:
Science: Interactive exhibits and STEM challenges.
History: Discover the rich history of Southwest Florida.
Live Animals: Learn about our animal residents and their habitats.
Aquariums: Experience the wonders of aquatic life through our exhibits.
What is the schedule for field trips?
Field trips start as early as 10:00 AM and typically last 2 to 4 hours, depending on the selected activities. Add-on experiences like the Fossil Hunt, 3D Movies, and Workshops can extend your trip.

How much does a field trip cost?
Per Student: Pricing depends on the activities selected (excludes 3D movies).
Chaperones: Required chaperones (1 per 10 students) are free. Additional chaperones pay the same rate as students.
Discounts, coupons, and IMAG memberships are not valid for field trips.
Are there any group size restrictions?
Minimum Group Size: 10 students.
Maximum Group Size: 180 participants, including students and chaperones.
What is the required student-to-chaperone ratio?
A minimum ratio of 1 adult for every 10 students is required. Teachers and IMAG members are included in this count. Required chaperones receive free admission.
Can groups combine while touring the IMAG?
No, groups will be subdivided into smaller groups (up to 20 people each) to ensure smooth and timely visits to all exhibit spaces. Groups may not combine during the tour.
Are IMAG exhibits guided or self-guided?
IMAG exhibits are primarily self-guided, but staff members lead certain activities, such as the Touch Tank and Fossil Hunt.
What add-on activities are available?
Enhance your field trip with exciting add-ons, including:
- Fossil Hunt
- 3D Movies ($200 for the first show, $150 for subsequent shows; capped at 100 participants per show)
- Workshops
Is lunch space available for groups?
Yes, designated lunch spaces are available. Please request this in advance when booking your field trip.
What happens if I need to cancel or reschedule?
If you need to cancel or reschedule, please contact us at least 72 hours in advance. Cancellations with less notice may incur a fee.
Are field trips accessible for all students?
Yes, the IMAG is wheelchair accessible, and we strive to accommodate all students. Let us know in advance if your group has specific accessibility needs.
